RFQ Procedure

Note: For more specifics on an RFQ, see Request for Quote (RFQ).

  1. Starting from the Buy & Sell module main page (Your Marketplace), click the CREATE RFQ button.
    The RFQ/Quote Worksheet page is displayed.

  2. Fill out fields on the page. For information on the fields, including which are required, see Fields on the RFQ/Quote Worksheet. For specific information on suppliers, see Selecting or Adding Suppliers.

    If the RFQ is for multiple line items, click the ADD LINE button to add a line item.

  3. To save the RFQ as a draft for later editing and submitting, click the SAVE DRAFT button.
    You are returned to the Request for Quote page, where the RFQ's status is Draft.

    - OR -

    To submit the completed RFQ to your selected suppliers, click the SUBMIT button.

    You are returned to the Request for Quote page, where the RFQ's status is Open (or Due Today, if you selected today's date in the Respond By field).
  4. Notification is sent to the suppliers (by their selected notification method -- email or fax) that an RFQ from you is awaiting attention.


    Note: An entry is made in the Documents section of your calendar (My Calendar on the navigation bar) when you save an RFQ as a draft or submit it to suppliers. You can click the calendar entry to open the RFQ/Quote Worksheet.
