Use the Parametric Search to find parts in a selected device category that have the characteristics you specify. The characteristics include parameters (technical characteristics), manufacturer, and device availability status.
To start a search, click the Parametric Search link on the initial Design Center page. An alphabetized category index is displayed.
Step 1: Select a device category for parts you want to find.
To find the category, use one of two methods:
- Navigate through the Category Index
- Click the category of interest to initiate a search within that category. The categories with an arrow at the end of the category name will automatically display sub-categories to choose from. It is necessary to choose a category name without the arrow (an "end node" category) in order to initiate a search.
- Note:The following categories are not parameterized, and offer search capabilities based on part number, manufacturer, and/or keyword: Battery, Fuse, Circuit Protection Devices, Crystal, Fan/Blower, Heat Sink, Power Supply, RF Connector, Relay and Transformer
- OR -
- Use the Category Words Search Feature
- In the Category Words field, type one or more words for the category you want to find.
- Click the SEARCH button. Category names containing a match will turn red.
Step 2: Perform parameter/value queries to describe the parts you want to find.
Select a parameter from the list on the left side of the page to display the associated values and their checkboxes to the right. Note: Once you select a parameter, an EXIT button is also displayed on the right. Click the EXIT button if you need to return to the previous query results.
From the Values list, click checkboxes to select one or more values. Numeric value-based parameters will include a dropdown selection to use to specify ranges of values (greater than, less than, etc.)
Click the SELECT button.
A Results count is displayed on the right. It shows the number of devices in the result set for the parameter/value(s) query.
To add more parameter/value queries, repeat steps 2 through 4 for other parameters and values.
Note: After each parameter query, parameters and values available for selection are for parts in the current result set.
Optional: Revise your query. Click the checkbox for a parameter value and click the REMOVE button.
Click the DISPLAY RESULTS button to see the Parametric Results.
Note: The query is saved and can be revised after you view results. On the Parametric Results page, click the RETURN TO PARAMETRIC SEARCH button to return to the query.
