PartMiner, Inc., its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively "PartMiner") appreciates your visit to the www.partminer.com website (the “Site”), becoming a PartMiner.com member, and/or your use of the PartMiner content and applications on or accessed through the Site.
PartMiner understands that its visitors and members' privacy is of critical importance to its success, and the success of the Site, as a marketplace where business can be transacted while protecting the interests of all parties. Consequently, to make sure that your expectations and our practices are aligned, and that you are aware of your choices with regard to our use and disclosure of the information you provide on or through the Site, PartMiner has created this Privacy Policy. Please note that PartMiner is committed to best practices in terms of privacy safeguards for its members, and wants to hear of any concerns members or prospective members may have.
PartMiner reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and will notify users of any material changes by updating the policy here and by including an "UPDATED" label with the "PRIVACY POLICY" link on the web sites governed by this policy for 30 days after any material changes are made.
1. What information do we collect?
When you register to become a member of the Site, you fill out a registration form that includes name, company, location, address, e-mail address, billing address, title, job function, phone number, and the business in which your company is engaged. All registration information is collected by PartMiner. When you log on to the Site, or use any applications accessed through the Site, we will collect information about your activities, including, but not limited to, what product information you access on the Site, as well as any information you enter into the Site or the applications, including, without limitation, information entered into the Request for Quote (RFQ), Quote, Shop module, Research module, or bill of materials screens.
2. How is the information used?
The information from activity in the Research and Shop modules on the Site, or similar modules or locations on the Site, may be used by PartMiner to market and promote its other services to members. Statistical information about activity on the Site may be used by PartMiner or transferred to third parties for marketing, promotion, market research, or other purposes, at PartMiner's sole discretion.
The information from the Quote and Shop modules are used by PartMiner to provide better services, including, but not limited to, implementing the functions of the PartMiner’s Quote and Shop modules. Storing RFQ, Quote, PO, and PO confirmation information in a database allows members to easily access and view their own active or archived documents, see the status of individual line items, as well as view earlier documents. Viewing these database-driven screens will let a buyer review the status of all RFQs in one place, see quotes responsive to RFQs the buyer sent to PartMiner Direct, for example, and instantly see any price or delivery issues that may be developing. PartMiner Direct can see all incoming RFQs, POs, and other communications from buyers in order to facilitate rapid response.
Information gathered about components or component types members locate, quote, or buy, or about which they access information, may be used by PartMiner to select what advertising messages they see when on the site. PartMiner may also issue marketing or informational mail (via e-mail, fax, or postal service) to members whose interest in a part or part type has been identified, but members will be able to opt out of any such mail.
We may also use your information to send you e-mail and other communications on behalf of third parties. Each of these communications will include instructions for opting out of receiving future third party offers from us. You may also opt out of third party offers from this site at any time by going to http://www.partminer.com/opt-out.jsp
3. Our Disclosure of Your Information
A. Membership Registration, Research, and Shop. Except as otherwise provided, information you provide to us on the Site, including all information provided when you registered to use the Site, and all information obtained regarding your use of the Research and Shop modules of the Site, may be used by PartMiner to market services to members. In addition, all membership registration information you provided may be disclosed to third parties to market their products or services under contractual requirement to keep the information confidential and use it only to market and promote their products or services. You may opt out of such disclosures at any time by going to www.donotdisclose.partminer.com.
B. Quote Module. The Quote module on the Site establishes private communications between buyers and PartMiner Direct in order to create an efficient marketplace environment where members can locate the parts they need and buy, sell, and negotiate with a greatly reduced investment in time and effort.
Buyers using the Quote module cannot see information in the system relating to other individual buyers and their activities in the Quote module. Only PartMiner Direct sees that particular buyer's RFQ, PO, or contact/billing information. What PartMiner Direct sees is: 1) the name of the buyer, 2) part number, 3) manufacturer, 4) quantity, 5) target price, 6) comments, and 7) required delivery dates. If PartMiner Direct can locate the needed parts, it will quote them to the buyer.
PartMiner will not release to any third party information from the Quote module traceable to individual Site members (users or companies) or their bills of materials, transactions or other activity in the Quote module, except (1) as specified in Section 3 of this policy, (2) to a data processor engaged by PartMiner and subject to the restriction specified in this policy, or (3) as required by law (for example, under court order or subpoena).
The Quote module will:
Make available to any individual member, on request, certain tracking information about such individual member should such information be gathered by the Quote module, for review and correction purposes. Each member may review and correct the information located in his or her "My Account" web page. Each time a member logs in to the Quote module, such member may review his or her transaction history as recorded on the Request For Quote, Quote, Purchase Order or Purchase Order Confirmation web pages. Information summarizing a company's activities will be made available to such company's designated administrative contact.
Make public or transfer to third parties aggregated information about activity in the Quote module for marketing, promotion, market research, or other purposes, at PartMiner's sole discretion. This aggregated information will not be traceable to individual members of the Site, nor will it include pricing information.
To the extent required by law, PartMiner may disclose personally identifiable information to government authorities, or to third parties pursuant to a subpoena or other legal process, and we may also use or disclose your information as permitted by law to protect the rights of PartMiner, its customers, its websites or its users.
